We talk way too little, the more we talk the more we learn. Most People do not like to talk about money because they don’t know anything about it. They don’t know how to make it, save it or invest it.
What I find interesting about this question is how hard it is to talk to anyone about personal finances. My significant other doesn’t seem as interested as I am in how we have allocated our money. Then with friends, there is this dance we do where we talk about how well or poorly we are doing financially without every revealing any dollar figures.
When I find myself wanting to tell someone how much I made off a trade I usually stop and ask myself why. It is usually to impress them and make me feel better. Those aren’t good reasons and keeps me from making the disclosure
Americans have always had trouble talking about money, salaries, & personal finance. It’s too bad because there’s a lot to learn from hearing people’s stories, which is one of the great advantages to this site.
Too little, as if people who talk about personal finances think nothing but money all the time. The “I’m not interested and I don’t care” attitude is baffling!
Too little. Finances should be discussed with children as they’re growing up and I don’t hear that. Women should be more involved with their finances because there is huge probability they will have to be involved at some point in their lives.
I only discuss personal finance with my immediate family. Rarely do my friends or acquaintances bring it up.
Here in Australia its definitlety a bit of a taboo topic – we definitely don’t talk about it enough!
It depends on whether we’re making money or losing it. I expect we are talking much less than we used to.
Those who don’t need to talk about it do so way too much, and those who do need to talk about it (and listen) do so way too little

I think it is key to discuss investing with your children. A lttle advice can make a world of difference in how they save and invest.

Not nearly enough. I don’t care if someone knows what my salary is or what I paid for my car.
