    • I was going to be a ROCK STAR....that worked out really well, LOL. I have been fortunate enough to become a semi pro musician, regularly getting paid gigs. BUT never enough to quit my day job. I went to Nashville early on to try to get some studio work, but quickly realized how good those guys were and hung my head and came back to Georgia. But, I am playing this month 6/20 at a beautiful setting called West Milford Farms in Cumming, GA. Paid gig with PA and sound guys provided. Ahhhh just have to take my own gear. They do the rest. Love those lazy gigs! LOL

    • My wife is a geriatric care manager specializing in dementia. Families come to her to help them navigate the wide array of AL options as well as memory care. Not only that, but being an advocate for their loved one and keeping up with medical appointments, med lists, taking them to their doctor appts and keeping notes from each visit. Her mantra is "you just be the child or spouse, let me handle the rest". I'm not saying it is cheap by any reason, but it removes a huge weight from some, especially when parents and their children are in different locations.

    • Let's see...at 62. Ladders, changing bulbs in these new fangled LED lights using that stupid suction cup thingy, ugh! Anything delicate that requires throwing on readers and straining to see. Mouse print on expiration dates. Splitting wood is no longer a great way to "just get some exercise" lol. And finally stairs. My knees bark at me every step. Gotta look for a single level ranch sooner than later!

    • I shuttered all my social media accounts. There are less than 20 people (other than family) that I communicate with via text on a regular basis. I realized that I don't care about half the opinions out there. And to quote the great singer songwriter Paul Thorn, "I don't like half the folks I love" LOL. BUT, so far this forum has remained wonderfully civil. Salute to all of you.

    • I used to live and breathe football. Used to. I kept up with every Braves win-loss. Used to. I was a die hard college basketball fan. Was. Too many reasons to even list for my disdain of sports these days. The transfer portal in college has destroyed my last bastion of love for the games. Pee Wee football anyone?

    • Thanks Jonathan! For anyone uber nerdy like me, the bassist is Dave Roe who played with Johnny Cash. Lucky to get him!

    • If you get a chance check out YouTube for a song I wrote and had recorded in Nashville. "(I Had) Breakfast with Elvis" by artist Richard E.Carpenter. If you watch till the very end my name pops up as writer. We rented a diner and a wild Elvis in Nashville for the shoot, so much fun!
