I am always investigating good books and good classical music. Many of the things I discover are pretty old – and often out of print. When I discover something I really want to have, perhaps an old CD of a rare piano performance, or a book from the last century that fills a unique information hole, I may feel lucky only paying double the going price in order to get it.
Trash service. I’m not sure there’s an upper limit on how much I’d pay to have my trash taken away from my home, but twice what it is now is still a bargain.
Q-tips brand ear swabs. I know it sounds crazy, but they are the only brand that I have found that provides enough material to comfortably remove moisture from my ears after a shower.
Visits with the kids and car vacations. Despite gasoline recently doubling, we haven’t put off any major car trips – these are at the top of retirement life’s priorities.
