Hi Adam, thanks for another insightful article! I totally agree with you that "investors are best served by choosing diversified index funds rather than trying to pick individual stocks". I spent most of my professional career with a Fortune 500 company. The company many years ago was even the most valuable company in the world. Now it is just a fractional of its former self. Today's winners can easily be tomorrow's losers. For us as average retail inventors, we should take the long view with most of our portofilo in index funds, then perhaps 5% or less as the "fun money" to pick or invest in whatever crazy things we want to. Thank you for your weekly lead articles to keep HD.com going strong.
Hi Mark, you have a great sense of humor. I cracked up reading, “Apparently the Vinted business model includes free delivery, and it turns out I am the free delivery.” Hey, happy wife, happy life!
Excellent article, Adam. Just the other day, I was talking with friends and family about being resilient in life overall. In my view, there are three key components: financial resilience, physical resilience, and mental resilience. The best time to build each of these is when life is relatively calm, because we know challenges can arise at any time. Your perspective on resilient investing is a huge part of building financial resilience. Thank you for sharing your insights.

Thanks for sharing this story, Mark. Financial security is as primary as physical security. I admire what you did to help your mom feel safe.
