Apparently a lot of people feel they are paying a lot (US most expensive health care in the world) but aren’t receiving care with insurance companies playing games and denying care. Wars have been started with similar beliefs.
I agree, one of my Facebook retirement groups favorite things to repeat is “if you don’t fly first class, your kids will.”
I do have friends and relatives still pushing it at retirement age and beyond, they love what they do, the “thrill of the kill” etc.
For me I’ve learned to enjoy slowing down and watch them fly by while our concerns revolve around what movie to see and where to eat dinner.
As a grizzly old guy once remarked “ain’t nothin’ free.
But things do change.
Social security benefits used to be tax-free.
Right now US corporate income tax at 21% is good, not the lowest, but Harris was in favor of raising it dramatically
I was over 65, wanted to travel a lot more and just do more on my own than work. We love it, we hit the afternoon movies, early happy hours and home by 6. I’m a regular at Costco, wife and I going to volunteer spending time talking to Alzheimer’s residents at Sunrise Senior Center, as a business owner still do limited travelling (only what I want), going to huge BAU building show January in Munich, back to London in March with friends, Viking Homelands cruise in August, Malt Shop Cruise in November, ……….
Hilarious and a reason I throw 99% of my mail in the trash.
Your quest is similar to finding one of Southwest’s probably legal but dubious $25 low flight offers. It’s out there, one seat on a 2am flight with a change in Iowa.
