    • Well the economy wouldn’t be nearly as robust if people didn’t spend as freely, which fuels our index funds upward.

    • Well I’ve loved my Tesla Model Y since September 2020! It has its quirks but fun to drive, amazing acceleration and almost 0 maintenance. The buying experience couldn’t be easier, all online.

    • lol the rest of us are mere mortals in investing compared to Buffett. I look at a lot of his holdings and think they’re not particularly impressive but you can’t argue with what he’s achieved. Some of them don’t seem to have very deep moats. But in the spirit of not leaving all the chips on the table and with the market being high I did cash out of VGT to help our daughter buy her first house debt free at 30.

    • My wife and I are polar opposites on spending. She always says “ you can’t take it with you,” to which I reply “you won’t have to worry about it.” But we have learned to appreciate others positions. We’ve certainly known people who squirreled away and denied themselves for decades assuming they’ll really enjoy life when they retire, only to drop dead shortly after retiring.

    • But it was a smaller than average villa, Mark. Yes we are very blessed. My wife and I debate who grew up with less and I say I did because her father worked for a big oil company. Now that we’re comfortable, her attitude is money is to be enjoyed because we may not be here tomorrow. Mine is to squirrel it away because you never know the big crash could be right around the corner. She has helped me enjoy the moment.
