Thank you so much for sharing this. Another book by Drs. Sherzai is The Alzheimer's Solution, which highlights research articles and their personal decades of experience working with communities around Loma Linda, CA. Highly recommended, and they mention the same lifestyle changes you take about.
Reminds me of the poem Ozymadias by Shelley…one of my favorites. I try to just do my best in the moment and hope the ripples benefit those around me, regardless of who gets the credit.
Thanks for trying to help so many people! I’ve learned the hard way that you can’t help those who won’t help themselves. Sounds harsh, but that’s been my experience.
Glad to hear you have overcome personal and financial obstacles and are in a great position to enjoy your life! I am also in real estate, and am increasingly disenchanted with it. My rentals are money-makers, but the maintenance costs have gone up so much with the pandemic and inflation that it’s not a dependable source of income. I prefer my index funds—-lost cost, low maintenance! Thanks for sharing your story.
Robotics is right, but I’m going to throw one out there anyway: cigarettes and alcohol. Amazing what we could save without it, in short term costs but also health care.
