I don’t know. I only have a sample size of one school unfortunately, but it was heartening to see.

Agreed. I’ll add that I work with hs students who are laser focused on not taking on college debt, so they take dual enrollment classes at the local community college to get college credit for a shorter college runway. It’s very common here in Texas and many other states, but it wasn’t when my cohort was going through. I’m glad that the next generation has learned from our mistaken belief that you can pile on educational debt and always climb out from under it.

Ignore cnbc and just keep buying index funds.

Lots of great points already made. I think the most overlooked tax strategy by folks who’ve maxed out all the usual tax efficient vehicles is simply to continually buy index funds in a taxable account over many working years and don’t sell. You avoid capital gains tax and trying to time the market. “The first rule of compound interest is to never interrupt it unnecessarily.” -Munger

I can’t tell you how grateful I am to my mom for getting her POAs done (I’m near certain your family will feel the same).

Richard, you nailed it. All of it (and thank you). I once had a well known blogger change something I’d written in a comment into a racist rant, so I presume he could generate controversy and more clicks (he only removed my name after I threatened to sue, but he left the manipulated comment up I’m guessing because it had already generated much click bait drama). That was when I began to look more discerningly at the claims made on these blogs, and have found that many simply don’t add up.

I really enjoy the updates on your business and the YouTube channel itself! Any chance you could relocate to Central Texas and train two embarrassingly-behaved mongrels 🤣

Libraries are the best. Whenever folks complain about taxes, they forget (or don’t use) wonderful services like libraries. We have a brand new, incredible looking one about to open in Round Rock, and I’m excited for my kids to get lost in it (figuratively of course… but also just for a little bit literally).
