Reverse investment compounding. I've never read inflation referred to as that. Makes intuitive sense. I'll add only to combat it, the majority of my investments are in stocks, TIPS, and I-Bonds.

As the famous TV judge often said, 'We have two ears and one mouth for a reason.' And while we're at it, the focus should be to listen to understand, and not listen to respond.

Ah yes, Small Cap Value. I've often read of it as a leading, if not top performer over time. Also one of only a few asset classes where active management is recommended. Never pulled the trigger on it though either because the fund expense ratio was too high or the yield - which I always chase - was too low. Wish I'd had the patience.

Agreed. After moving residences for instance, felt overwhelmed by the mess and reorganization ahead but by doing a little bit every day, I now know where everything is again. Never forgot how a former boss phrased it as, "making a dent."

What's my car buying strategy? Never buy new, the vehicle must be at least three years old, and never finance a depreciating asset. Had a 2002 Honda Accord with a six-cylinder, V-tec engine that was said to last forever but when the car's other components began to fail, sold it to avoid being nickled and dimed to death.

Hearing of this was a kick in the butt. Reminds me that anything can and does happen. Thanks for sharing. Hope everything goes as easy as possible for you. Maybe the Footsteps prayer will be of some comfort.
