I just turned 69 and I feel that there isn’t something quite right with that! The feeling has more to do with where I am in my life than feeling 69. I don’t know what it will be like when I turn 70.
To get prepared I read an article about being 70 and found a list, of all things, that I liked so much that wanted to share it. Do you have anything to add to this list?
10 Commandments of Happiness:
Good list … I would move 4 and 9 up … Without your health a lot of the others are really difficult
Numbers 3 (Smile) and 8 (winning arguments) come together in the musical Hamilton. Aaron Burr’s advice was, “Talk less, smile more.” Bad dude, but solid advice.
Great list – thanks. My take …. I think of number 8 as “Pick your battles”. There are times when standing your ground and arguing your point will be worth it. But often it’s just not worth the energy.
For number 6, I always worry about people bemoaning a lack of “common sense” in others. I don’t know if anyone really knows how to define common sense, and instead it gets used as an umbrella term to suggest that others aren’t too bright.
When you are 80 years old be careful what views your write about on HD 😁
Great list!!!
Also: take a few minutes a day to remind yourself to be grateful.
