Thank you, David. I finally got around to reading the article. We just got home yesterday from a wonderful long weekend in Chicago. We had wanted to return after our first trip awhile back since we had missed some things we wanted to do b/c of the weather. We had a great time. Highly recommend the architectural riverboat tour. We also visited the Art Institute this time and there is no way you can get through it all in one day. We came home refreshed and lots of good memories. It was good to not think about family stuff. Chris
W were in Chicago for four days last week, too. My husband had a conference, and I tagged along and then we stayed two extra days to have some fun. Weather was fantastic. We ate a couple of excellent meals and went to exhibits at the science and industry museum. We also love the Art Institue and went on the architectural river boat tour a couple of years ago.
Health issues have stopped our travel. I miss traveling and there are a few places on the bucket list we will never see, but the good news is we traveled to 45 countries and all 50 states before age caught up with us.
Once you retire, putting off what you really want to do is not a good idea. No matter what, the future is limited.
We started traveling the month after I retired. To Russia that time. We have been to Ukraine, Israel, all of Europe, Denmark and Sweden, Argentina, walked with Penguins on the Falkland Islands and more.
No matter what you want to do, do it sooner than later.
A health problem this summer (hopefully with a positive resolution soon) has made me think even more about the most important things I still want to do, and with whom, before my age and health limit my choices. So grateful that Doug and I took two really special trips together, a tour of southern Spain and Morocco and, a few years later, a cruise of some Greek islands. Forever grateful.
Great perspective. ” …. are all healthy enough to experience life together is smaller than you think… and it’s getting smaller.”
Most valuable things in life take a long time to achieve and we have precious little time to experience them. Live the moment!

Great article…and a lot of truth contained therein!
Back in April I had a medical event. For two months after I lived with dizziness, every day! I am getting medical care and the prognosis is positive.
2 weeks ago, I had another medical issue. Now I am awaiting an MRI, to determine if gall bladder surgery is in my near term future.
Thinking positive, I am hoping for the best, but I am reminded that no one is promised tomorrow!
Travel…now..,while you have your health!
Waiting for later is rarely going to be the right choice!
I will offer you also in prayer, Kevin. Chris

Sorry to see you are having health issues, Linda. I will offer you in my prayers. Chris
We all know this, but its sure easy to lose sight of it when focussing on investing and managing the dollars. Nice quick read.
Great link, thanks. I’ve read a few of his other articles before, all very good.
Great article, and his website looks interesting. Thanks for sharing!
