In the month since HumbleDollar launched the Forum, the site’s web developer has made a number of improvements. Among them: By clicking on a commenter’s name, you can see all of the commenter’s Forum posts, as well as his or her comments on other folks’ articles and posts.
We’ve now taken this one step further. Want to tell readers a little more about yourself? You can now add biographical information to your Forum profile page. Here’s what mine looks like. Want to do something similar? Go to one of your comments, click on your name and then click on “create/edit profile.”
This has always been such a great community. I’ll be incognito until retirement, but added a bio. Thanks to Jonathan and your small team for the work you are putting in for the future as we learn so much here.
I did this a couple of days ago. Seems to work well.
A very neat feature! Hope that people take advantage of this and share a bit about themselves.
Done also. I too like this feature.
It’s fun reading the bios at a click and also seeing past comments all collected together. I wrote a too-long bio, however, for someone who isn’t a constant contributor to HD. As a partial excuse, I didn’t realize it would turn into a long block of text with none of my paragraph returns, oops. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Done! Thanks for adding this to the forum features. I think it will be fun to read people’s profiles.
Very nice. Added mine. The structure of mine may look suspiciously similar to Jonathan’s 🙂
Nice. I read the first post on your blog. Phone phreaks fascinated me when I was young.
Great stuff!
I did an update to tie my Forum name to my writer’s page, but the hyperlink is not active.
Try embedding the link — similar to what I did at the end of my bio:
https://humbledollar.com/author/jonathan/
Highlight a word or two, and then use the editing function that looks like a double helix.
Too cool Jonathan!
Thanks, that’s a great addition! Might I also suggest a link to the author profile for writers?
You could simply include a link to your writer’s page in the profile you create. I just did that:
https://humbledollar.com/author/jonathan/
Good idea, will do.
Great addition Jonathan. Thanks
Great stuff! Thanks, Jonathan.
