From Google AI: Novo Nordisk, the company that discovered and developed Ozempic (semaglutide), designed and oversaw the clinical trials for the drug:
Trial design
Novo Nordisk designed the trial, which was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
Data collection
Investigators at each study site collected data.
Data analysis
Novo Nordisk performed data analysis and collation, and monitored the sites.
No conflicts of interest here. Stanford professor and world renowned epidemiologist John Ionnidis, MD has been warning of lack of reproducibility and fraud in medical research for decades. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Ioannidis
Sorry to read that your daughter's bipolar disorder led to unnecessary blame and resultant marital problems ("...we were told that her difficulties stem from family dynamics"). Mainstream psychiatry and genetics research is clearly pointing to genetics as the primary cause of the illness.
Great article Kristine. I think of introversion-extroversion as a spectrum, rather than a dichotomy. I also think the extremes of both ends of the spectrum may be related to anxiety disorders for some, but certainly not all. Much food for thought. "Know thyself"-- Socrates
Fond memories but also early lessons learned and interest in making money. I joined a 7th grade coin club at school in 1961 and began sorting through rolls of coins my father would get from our bank. Came across a 1914D Lincoln penny that I sold to the teacher who ran the coin club for $60. That caught my father's attention and led to a decades long interest for both of us.
I, and apparently 691K subscribers, rely a good deal on a YouTube master mechanic for auto advice. While his channel is about Toyotas, this video about oil changes would probably apply to any new-ish car. Start at the 2:30 mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdNCnYHhEm8&list=PL9viAUZ9HXWZMN07pQ3kOJSA0PA9KOCi1&index=9
I bought a new Highlander a year ago and am still learning about features and settings. I have learned much more from a Toyota owners forum than from either the dealership or Owner's Manuals. https://www.toyotanation.com/forums/highlander-forum.207/
I worked for a medical school for 37 years before retiring in 2015. The school is always looking for professional and lay volunteers to serve on the Institutional Review Board, co-lead discussion group classes and patient simulations for med students, and so forth. I would recommend not completely cutting ties to your employer if possible.

Just a beautiful, well-written story. Carl's tale could have been the basis for a George Jones song.
