It sounds like you and Sharon are doing everything you can to respect their wishes while preparing for the realities to come. Both of your mothers are fortunate to have your support.
I think that’s wise. Your new home sounds ideal for aging in place, especially with the guest cottage. But having a place on a CCRC waiting list provides options and a peace of mind.
