    • Oh no. The C word really is "cruel". I wish you much continued strength- in all its forms as your journey goes forward. My Mom passed from a rare cancer in her 60s, 19 hours prior to the birth of my children (twins.) There were many good days and many not so good, but it is amazing the strength so many have, and I know you have it as well. You have found a fantastic "secret sauce" with Humble Dollar, which compels me to write to ask that you find a way for it continue. I began my path of learning about "investing" in my early 20s in the 1990s. I only really began to focus on learning about serious "retirement planning" in 2017, just in the nick of time I believe. Humble Dollar has been a big part of this. Your writing, and the contributions of the other authors bring in a great mix of voices that makes your twice weekly email the only financial related one that I'm sure to circle back to if I'm too busy when it first goes by in my inbox. And I subscribe to many great personal finance blogs/emails etc. I'm a recovering "news junkie" who was needing to detach a bit. I've found watching youtube videos on my hobbies- gardening and personal finance- as a great replacement for activities such as doom scrolling Twitter and watching CNBC. I have to say that I really enjoy Rob Berger a lot and I think you and he share many traits. If a few of your Humble Dollar contributors and other gurus who are a part of today's wonderful mix of the personal finance diaspora could find a way to continue Humble Dollar, it would be a blessing. I have about fifteen years until I retire. I have learned so much from you and your contributors. I thank you a lot and I hope what you have created can continue in some form. Again, many thanks and best wishes.

    • I find it interesting that these “xX multiple against salary” never adjust for Roth accounts. Not a difficult adjustment to make, but none of these articles I have seen anywhere mention it. My retirement funds are 40% roth.
