Money and politics are joined at the hip. I’ve voted for Trump and voted against Trump. I don’t think tariffs work but we will see. I do see China in particular as a threat to American influence and prosperity. They laugh at our rule of law, intimidate our corporations like DuPont, use slave labor if necessary, infringe and steal our IP, among other issues. Allowing BYD to sell cars in the US would put our auto manufacturers out of business. We have surrendered our security for cheaper prices on hammers at Home Depot. China controls 90%+ of rare earth minerals which they’re already starting to limit distribution of.
Yes as the Bible teaches whatever state we’re in to be content. But it is human nature not to mention bring constantly bombarded by advertising to want more, the latest phone etc
Tariffs are paid by importers.
The US no longer has the manufacturing infrastructure to make many products, at any kind of competitive price.
Americans can make $20-25/hour+ at Amazon vs a manufacturer trying to compete with China paying $.30/hour. That dog don't hunt.
Where are all the workers going to come from when we're deporting like crazy?
No American-based car company can compete with BYD.
Our soaring debt and a real possibility of a market/economy crash. Very poor future conditions as people don’t have children. Never seen so many restaurants and retailers going under.

Yes everyone getting benefits should have skin in the game, it’s too easy to justify money the other guys are paying for.
