The timeliness of this post is freaky. (I agree with the others that said nasal only mask is easy sailing). I have been using mine so long (probably 10 years), my machine is now giving me a message that it has reached the end of is useful life. That's right folks! Technology obsolescence is everywhere! Now I'm trying to get a replacement sent as purchase NOT as rental so that I don't get caught running into January insurance resets and paying the full shot for a few months. Between the dr, the cpap supplier, the cpap suppliers biller and the insurance company I have been sent in so many circles I'm dizzy. Machines run about $1000 so I will continue to battle! Mark! I hope you're both enjoying the heck out of your adventures. There has got to be some kind of scale at which your already spent trick no longer works. Can I trick myself to not fret over spending my retirement savings by considering it already spent the minute I earmarked those dollar amounts in 'the plan'? I wish that would work but I know I am going still have a hard time when the paycheck stops.
Interesting perspective Jo Bo. Hard to quantify the vigilance and hassle factor when just running the numbers for sure. I will keep this in mind. Thank you

Ps I store mine in the bottom drawer of my nightstand and get a 10 ft hose instead of 6. Having it so far below the bed cuts any noise WAY down.

I rather like your idea of adding more layers of spending over time. You don't have to go from a frugal saver to an enthusiastic spender overnight.
