    • Long time reader. First time commenter. Most definitely an introvert, so I couldn't let this one go by. (My mother actually believed that I deliberately skewed my GPA in high school so that I wouldn't make valedictorian and have to give a speech at graduation. I didn't, but I might have if I had thought of it. Luckily, there were no speeches required of the salutatorian.) In psychology, there is what's known as the "free trait" theory. It indicates that an introvert can step outside their comfort zone and be successful at things they're passionate about. I believe it explains why I was able to present a hiring skills workshop I had developed for managers throughout my division back when I was an HR administrator in banking. To replenish my social battery, after every presentation, I'd grab take-out, chocolate, and a good book, then hole up in my room and call it quits for the night. Mark, I'm sure you were passionate about building a business you believed in. Maybe the free trait theory explains your long-running and exceptionally successful acting gig. Congratulations on pulling it off!
