I retired at 62. I did have a pension and 401k. I have just hit FRA,(66 4 months) and received my first check. I kept going back and forth on this one. My old analogy kicked in, when in doubt go halfway (62-70) so FRA at 66 and 4 months for me. I also feel comfortable my wife (if I pass before her) will receive a decent amount.

We did an irrevocable trust with our children, home and will and assets in trust. Currently waiting 5 year period. Don't know but thought a good way to go. Years ago, did have a policy with Glenworth until they increased rate 50 percent. We dropped them.

I now look back and would have post taxed contributions to my 401k and put much more in my Roth 401k. Now I'm looking at moving this a Roth Ira.

Also note my Wife is collecting her SSI. We had her collect at 62 for the extra income when I retired 3 years ago.
