A raise every year for 50 years?
Being self employed for 46 years, no way in H im giving myself a raise every year.

Never having clipped a coupon in my 80 yrs, recently the local Safeway here in Hilo HI offered the digital version, how cool is that? Shop and clip on my phone at my leasure.
I saved $17 my first 2 trips!
As for parking and carts. My wife and I park at the far corner of the lot, clear of swinging car doors and wayward carts. I generally find a cart on the way to the entrance for our use.
We still use Costco occasionally, if and when we're ready for a 185 mile round-trip to Kona.

Don't forget trade schools and the service industry. Electricians, plumbers, auto mechanics and resturanturs.
Roofers, painters, landscapers and truck drivers, to name a few.

Unlike Goodwill or The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity accepts donations of electronic appliances, building materials and home furnishings. All of which is on sale at donation centers.

I've had Vanguard accounts, my wife and my own, including RMDs for decades. At 80 yrs old im finding negotiating the Vanguard site easier and more efficient than ever. Large fonts, Yipee!

Wearing Casio watches, driving Toyota work trucks and sedans for many decades have proven not only benefical for our peace of mind, but our paid in full retirement in Hawaii. Where by the way, Japanese autos far out number Eupropean versions.

As one older than you, I've learned to play it forward whenever possible, including phone operators, who aren't or just can't be helpful for what ever the reason. We must remember today's world is nothing like we may have imagined. Civility seems to be at a premium. We're short timers, so make the best of it for our children and family's sake.
PS. I look forward to my morning "paper" too.I've been a subscriber to the LA Times over 50 years. The last 7 via the internet. Took awhile to get use to, but liked the price savings. Aloha

Before moving to Hawaii Is. 12 yrs ago , I lived to Orange Co. Ca, there were 4 Costcos within 20 minutes of home.
