    • Unlike Goodwill or The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity accepts donations of electronic appliances, building materials and home furnishings. All of which is on sale at donation centers.

    • Sorry to hear of your difficulty with Vanguard. I've had Vanguard accounts, my wife and my own, including RMDs for decades. At 80 yrs old im finding negotiating the Vanguard site easier and more efficient than ever. Large fonts, Yipee! Sometimes when things just aren't falling in place, take a break and reboot. Retirement affords us that pleasure.

    • Pleased you received the help you needed Dennis. As one older than you, I've learned to play it forward whenever possible, including phone operators, who aren't or just can't be helpful for what ever the reason. We must remember today's world is nothing like we may have imagined. Civility seems to be at a premium. We're short timers, so make the best of it for our children and family's sake. PS. I look forward to my morning "paper" too.I've been a subscriber to the LA Times over 50 years. The last 7 via the internet. Took awhile to get use to, but liked the price savings. Aloha

    • I've been driving since my 16th Bday, 1961. From various sized trucks, tractors, muscle cars of the 60's and dozens of vehicles in between. A few tickets in my younger days, but never at fault in a wreck. These days as much as I love the freedom of driving, it's not enjoyable with the hustle bustle of so much traffic combined with the many law offenders and flat idiotic and discourtesy drivers. Note. My conclusion to avoid the in harms way of shopping parking lots is simple. Get to the empty back of the lot asap, park and do yourself a favor, a couple actually. Avoid the stress of looking for a parking spot and the exercise of walking while breathing deeply with a smile. PS. Don't forget the extra steps to return the shopping cart, thankful your able.

    • Couldn't agree more. I'm just lucky. I realized early in life I couldn't function in a cluttered or messy inviroment, likely an inherited trait of my parents, it sure proved useful being self employed.
