Finding a Tax Pro

DURING YOUR JOURNEY, you will likely ask yourself, “Should I prepare taxes myself or should I find a CPA?”

And both can be the right decision at the right time.

A CPA will cost you anywhere from $500-$3,000, depending on complexity.

Preparing taxes yourself can take a lot of hours, and it may not be a good use of time.

A simple approach is to ask yourself the following: Do you have a simple W-2, along with some basic investments?

If yes, then you can probably just DIY using cost-efficient tax software.

However, if you have a business, side hustle, multi-state taxes, RSU complexities, rentals, and other complexities, it may very well be worth hiring a CPA.

How to Find a CPA

One of the best ways to find a CPA is to ask your neighbors and coworkers. But they may have different situations than you do.

Another option is to use a platform, like FindCPA, that allows you to browse CPAs in different states, or even submit a free concierge form and they’ll help you find a CPA near you. They make it very easy to find one.
