Choosing a CCRC (Life PlanCommunity)

For this past year and the upcoming year I have been researching what to look for, and what questions to ask when investigating potential facilities. In 2028 we will begin the exploration and consider being placed on waiting lists. (I am an over preparer and researcher)

I have read a short book entitled CCRCs: Find the Right Continuing Care Retirement Community for Yourself or a Loved One.

I have also been receiving excellent emails on topics from MyLifeSite.net. Today’s topic was reviewing facilities’ financial statements and what questions to ask.

Even though I consider myself a fairly intelligent person I find that the information and questions you should ask the facility a little overwhelming. I also do not feel comfortable asking hard questions of people.

When reading the article today I questioned whether there are paid consultants that one can hire to assist in an overall evaluation of facilities and their finances considering what a large financial commitment entering into an agreement with said institutions is. I know that a financial advisor and an elder care attorney can assist, but I’m wondering if there are professionals who one can hire for a wholistic approach and can be at your side as you engage with retirement communities.

Are any in the Humble Dollar community aware of such professionals?

Thanks

There are such people. I only know that because a friend of mine does it here in Cincinnati. Give it an internet or AI search to see if there’s someone in your area. Good luck.
