Ken I enjoyed your piece about High School and Mrs. Fine. I had Mrs. Fine at Moorestown HS in the mid 80's. She was also a formative teacher for me. I was in the regular English track, and perhaps the demands for reading/writing for our class was a bit lower. I remember though that she asked us to write 10 pages based off of a 10 line soliloquy from Shakespeare's Macbeth. Most of us in class felt our heart drop. I asked her after class how it was possible to come up with 10 pages based on 10 lines! She introduced me to the idea of free association as a creative tool. This concept opened my eyes to a world of new possibilities. I'm still using this concept today! She will be long remembered!
