Adam, I am 65 and recall thinking when I started working that "there is no way SS will be around when I retire" and saved accordingly. While I have not begun taking the benefits yet, it feels like I may have been wrong back then! In any event, your advice to young readers is excellent,
Have had several people close to me succumb. Tragic. Men have a difficult time discussing health issues, and taking action. While stark this is a good reminder that a few simple steps can change a life. Thanks and be well.
Excellent. With regard to I-pad tipping: Where is the line drawn? Gas stations? Any self service? Movie theatre ticket taker?
Curious as to how others view the new "Health and Benefits service charge" of 18-20% in some restaurants. I feel this is an onset approach to convert the variability of tipping to a definable benefit to the server. Many places illustrate the breakdown of where the $ goes. IN these instances I rarely add a tip on top of the 20% of the meal cost. What do others do?
No. Tipping more as the pandemic subsides. Seeing more "service charges" added - 18-20% to ensure fair wages, so that eliminates tipping at those restaurants.
