Some days I look like a Cheshire Cat with a big, huge grin. The book Die With Zero, discussed on HD, mentioned the interplay between Time, Health and Wealth. We’re at the sweet spot of all three. Yes, I’m excited on this phase of our lives.
She wanted to retire, but on her terms. When the layoff happened, she realized she was not ready. Financially we’re fine. We just have to accept the new reality. She may go back to work, but for now she’s busy planning a trip to Portugal.
It’s a balance, and it’s scary leaving the treadmill. Defining if you have enough is the key. I listened to my body and mind when I decided to walk away.

Yes and yes. We’re fortunate. Cobra is actually reasonable compared to state insurance plans.

Yes, I constantly reminded myself that I was an employee at will, and could be let go at any time. It’s one reason I kept saving and investing.

I too made a conscious decision to be more social. I’m glad I did.
