    • Having kids focused us on saving money and really looking to the future. We wouldn't be in the secure financial position we are without having a family. They still impact us financially today - we've gotten cheaper vacations because our oldest son runs an amusement park. Our youngest son and wife work in computer security, so they take of our technology needs. Our daughter and husband are medical professionals, so any health questions that arise they can advise us. Without children, our lives would've been aimless, financially and otherwise.

    • You should buy gold coins or bullion to preserve your wealth. Having some American Eagles put away (which you'll never sell unless a personal or national catastrophe occurs) will give you peace of mind and help you sleep at night. If you want to invest in gold, buy gold stocks, such as NEM.

    • Being young adults in the '70's, my wife and I have always invested as if inflation would return. Low debt levels, gold, silver and oil stocks, lots of cash. Other stocks we've bought were undervalued (in our opinion) and paid nice dividends. Rarely sold - have mutual funds and stocks we've owned for 35-40 years. Some we get more in yearly dividends than we originally paid for the stock. We're much better off than most of our peers and have no fears of inflation.
