Born in 1924, she grew up during the depression and remembered how tough things were. A typical experience for me would be to get a call from her while I was at work. She’d say something along the lines of: "Danny, I'm watching Bloomberg news and the market is down 2%. Am I OK?" I'd then assure her she had enough money and then ever so gently kid her, saying "Mom, you have to stop watching Bloomberg news!" I was telling her the truth. She had enough money between her Social Security and investments to safely live out the rest of her life. Still, she worried. That just reminds me of the value of getting to a point of financial security in your life, it buys you mental comfort since you no longer need to worry about running out of money.
I'm sorry to hear of Jonathan's latest status. Please let him know that I'm another of the many who have benefited from his guidance over so many years.
