I currently geek out on planning vacations for my family and me. Once my daughters are out of the house and I have helped secure their education goals, I hope to achieve this same financial "safe space." I hope to engage more excitedly in "proximity charity," where aid is given only to nearby locations (schools I drive by, libraries I frequent, etc.). Although I admit, grandkids (if I get them) could quickly become the proximity. I'd be ok with that... Thanks for the thought-provoking post.
