Food and home goods in two ways. A higher cost for the same item is the first way that we all notice.

Shrink-flation is the second way.

For instance, my wife uses a body wash made by Dove. The container used to hold 34 ounces and cost $8.99. Now the container costs $9.99 and the is a significantly smaller 30.6 ounces.

Since gas prices have eased, primarily food, especially eggs but that’s due apparently to the deadliest outbreak of avian flu in U.S. history. Have resorted to hunting for markdowns on items near expiration.

Groceries and gas mostly. Many grocery items have increased a lot. I am not a budget shopper, but when a 4.50 item jumps to 5.25, I notice. That sort of increase has become common.

Chinese food (takeout variety). Particularly dishes with seafood included. Our 1x/month splurge has increased 12% a on YOY basis – and we order the same meals every time. Even with rotating between 2 local proprietors, the increase is significant.
